Your Role

  • Oversee the execution of operational projects related to data services, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.

  • Report directly to the Head of Data Services Operations and collaborate with a dynamic team of over 200 Mapbox employees.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams within Data Services Operations, aligning project objectives with Product and Engineering Managers and stakeholders. Facilitate meetings and integrations across internal and external teams to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Establish and operationalize efficient, high-quality workflows for Data Services Operations projects, focusing on speed, precision, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Define and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, cost per data hour, and turnaround times.

  • Evaluate operational pipelines and implement AI solutions to enhance workflow and team productivity, thereby minimizing manual overhead.

  • Integrate AI-driven tools for automated project reporting, predictive risk assessment, and resource allocation optimization, streamlining project management workflows.

  • Offer strategic direction, conduct risk assessments, and provide recommendations to subordinate teams. Mentor and train middle project managers to optimize output and effectively manage risks.

  • Identify and resolve operational challenges, scaling infrastructure to accommodate rapid customer demand growth, while executing with urgency and clarity—continuously refining workflows and systems.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in leadership roles, successfully managing and expanding diverse service operational teams.

  • Familiarity with GIS technologies or geospatial datasets is highly advantageous.

  • Proven experience in managing operational service KPIs and tracking operational health.

  • Data-driven mindset with extensive hands-on experience in data management and operational efficiencies.
