Role overview
The Director of Ecosystem Development & Impact is a full-time leadership position based in Miami, Florida, within the Communications & Strategy team. This role centers on expanding and strengthening the Miami tech community, positioning Hut 8 as a recognized leader in the region. The Director serves as the primary connection between Hut 8 and the city’s startup ecosystem, working to establish the company as a trusted anchor in South Florida.
What you will do
- Lead local media strategy to secure coverage in Miami-area press and highlight Hut 8’s role in energy and digital infrastructure.
- Plan and execute a conference and events calendar: identify key Miami tech conferences, secure speaking opportunities, and oversee sponsorships.
- Host and organize tech events, meetups, and community gatherings at the 56,000 square foot Brickell headquarters, making it a focal point for the local tech scene.
- Build relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, accelerators, and tech leaders throughout South Florida, acting as a connector within the ecosystem.
- Grow a visible Hut 8 community brand in Miami, ensuring the company is seen as a driving force in the region’s tech sector.
- Work closely with communications and PR teams to align local efforts with broader national and global messaging.
- Collaborate with the People team to position Hut 8 as a top employer in Miami’s tech community, using events, local press, and partnerships to strengthen both talent pipelines and brand awareness.
