The Disaster Recovery & Capacity Engineer plays a crucial role in developing solutions to facilitate the organization's disaster response and crisis management activities, ensuring compliance with Engineering and Customer requirements, while also coordinating disaster preparedness to guarantee business continuity.
This role also involves ensuring that we possess sufficient resources to meet current and future platform demands effectively. This includes forecasting needs, capacity planning, performance monitoring (KPIs), risk management (shortages/overloads), and crafting optimization strategies.
Your impact:
- Collaborate with Engineering & Service Management to ensure that disaster recovery and capacity plans effectively guide our disaster recovery (DR) strategy and procedures across both Cloud and data center environments.
- Develop tools that support the DR plans and monitor progress against established KPIs and metrics.
- Work with Engineering & Service Management to guarantee that disaster recovery solutions are comprehensive, maintained, and tested as part of regular operational processes.
- Provide continuous feedback for risk management, mitigation, and prevention strategies.
- Create and implement capacity planning tools, frameworks, policies, and strategies.
- Deliver capacity requirements and impact assessments for new services or changes.
