SGS is actively seeking a skilled Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector / Engineer for a contract position lasting between 12 to 18 months. The selected candidate will be required to enter into an independent contractor agreement with SGS North America Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and facilitate all Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for project equipment, ensuring compliance with project specifications and stakeholder requirements. The ideal candidate should possess a robust electrical engineering background and extensive experience in not only coordinating but also witnessing and evaluating FATs, implementing necessary corrective actions to meet role expectations.
- Schedule and coordinate FATs with suppliers, project teams, and customer representatives.
- Conduct inspections of MV/HV Breakers, Voltage Transformers, Surge Arrestors, and related equipment.
- Ensure that all test procedures, documentation, and acceptance criteria are established prior to FAT.
- Enhance communication among suppliers, engineering teams, quality assurance, and customers during FAT activities.
- Track and document FAT outcomes, ensuring all punch-list items are logged and resolved.
- Disseminate certified FAT reports and test certificates to the project team for documentation purposes.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and standards such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
- Monitor and report on testing progress, quality metrics, and potential risks to project timelines.
- Oversee the execution of tests, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Document results and defects formally, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and facilitate resolutions with the relevant functional teams.
- Evaluate testing methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Verify that final documentation has been completed and approved by the customer and the responsible engineering/project management personnel.
