THE JOB

As an Emergency Veterinarian at VEG, your passion for helping animals and their owners will shine, especially in their times of need. We are committed to supporting your journey, enabling you to grow as a confident ER professional while charting a unique career path. WHAT YOU’LL DO

Respond to medical inquiries over the phone
Provide immediate care to patients as part of VEG's innovative Triage and VEG Spikes systems, ensuring prompt attention and allowing families to stay with their pets
Collect patient information, including signalment, presenting complaints, vital signs, and perform thorough physical examinations
Conduct necessary diagnostic procedures, such as ultrasounds, X-rays, blood tests, and biopsies
Formulate diagnoses for each pet and develop appropriate treatment plans

This leadership position involves managing a team of recruiting coordinators, sourcers, and specialists while taking ownership of the systems, processes, and data infrastructure that facilitate over 400 hires annually. You will report directly to the VP of Talent and collaborate closely with Talent Partners, People Operations, Engineering, and Finance. This role is integral—not merely a support function—as you will be establishing the operational backbone for a talent machine within a $2.5 billion company. Key Responsibilities: People Leadership: Your primary focus will be on building an effective team, not just systems. Manage a team of 4-5 direct reports, including recruiting coordinators, sourcers, and operations specialists across Engineering, Go-to-Market, and General & Administrative functions, while scaling alongside the company. Establish clear expectations, conduct one-on-one meetings, provide direct feedback, and create development plans for each team member.
