THE JOB
As an Emergency Veterinarian at VEG, your passion for helping animals and their owners will shine, especially in their times of need. We are committed to supporting your journey, enabling you to grow as a confident ER professional while charting a unique career path. Our culture emphasizes mentorship and continuous education, from on-the-job training to specialized VEG Education programs and unlimited ER-focused continuing education (CE). You will tackle a variety of emergencies, from routine cases to intricate surgeries, and work with all types of pets, including exotics. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Respond to medical inquiries over the phone
- Provide immediate care to patients as part of VEG's innovative Triage and VEG Spikes systems, ensuring prompt attention and allowing families to stay with their pets
- Collect patient information, including signalment, presenting complaints, vital signs, and perform thorough physical examinations
- Conduct necessary diagnostic procedures, such as ultrasounds, X-rays, blood tests, and biopsies
- Formulate diagnoses for each pet and develop appropriate treatment plans
