What We Seek:A minimum of 5 years of experience estimating mid-sized and larger glazing projects from architectural drawings and specifications. The ability to read, interpret, and understand architectural drawings and specifications, enabling the provision of detailed take-offs and estimates that incorporate diverse building envelope solutions. Experience with electronic estimating tools, including estimating software, on-screen take-off tools, and Excel spreadsheets. Knowledge of aluminum glazing systems and their applications. An understanding of glass, composite metal panel systems, and related materials.

Role overview

The Estimator II position centers on US Aluminum product lines such as storefronts, entrances, window walls, curtain walls, and hurricane or blast-resistant systems. This is an on-site role in Los Angeles, CA. The position calls for someone who can manage multiple projects, set priorities, and stay organized. Estimator II is part of the Estimating Department and offers the chance to build a career with an established company in the building products industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and timely estimates for customers using architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and elevation take-offs.
  • Follow up on estimates and provide insights on market pricing levels.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales, and internal teams to clarify project details and support efficient processes.
  • Maintain thorough and organized records of bid documents, correspondence, and project information.
  • Attend work regularly, perform duties safely, and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
