As a Senior Automation Engineer at BEUMER Group, you will lead mission-critical projects for advanced baggage handling systems in major airports across the globe. Your extensive technical knowledge will be vital in ensuring that our systems efficiently transport millions of passengers safely every day.
We are expanding our Airport Automation team and are looking for a skilled Senior Automation Engineer to work on our innovative CrisBag system, utilized in some of the largest airports worldwide. You will have immediate access to our in-house test center for prototyping, simulation, and validation, allowing you to bring the automation solutions of tomorrow to life.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority, identifying improvement opportunities in existing systems and methodologies. Your involvement will span all project phases, including specifications, PLC programming, design, testing, and commissioning. You will also participate in project definition and review meetings. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating PLC code for modules, elements, and tailored solutions within our baggage handling systems
- Determining optimal solutions for various projects
- Commissioning PLC code globally and testing your solutions virtually or at our test center
- Assessing layouts and solutions early in the project lifecycle to ensure long-term success
- Mentoring team members in code development and advocating for best practices
- Contributing to the documentation of our solutions
Qualifications:
We seek candidates with a collaborative spirit and a passion for technology and top-tier products. Curiosity, practical creativity, and a mindset that transcends mere coding to produce optimal solutions are highly valued. The ideal candidate should possess:
- Expertise in Siemens TIA and SCL (Structured Control Language)
- Experience in a similar role, developing PLC code for project-based machinery
- Strong background in object-oriented programming
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
