We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Lead Electrical Engineer to oversee all electrical engineering endeavors for the IA/PA Upgrade Project across various USSC platforms. This role encompasses power distribution design, modifications to low-voltage switchboards and motor control centers (MCCs), integration of motor feeders, and management of interfaces while ensuring that electrical systems adhere to safety and compliance standards.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Engineering Subcontractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), vendors, and ADNOC Offshore Engineering & Operations, offering support for site execution as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Design & Power Integration
- Develop and assess Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), load lists, cable sizing, earthing, lighting, and tray routing.
- Design and upgrade 415V switchboards and MCCs at CSP-1, NGTP, and TAE locations.
- Replace outdated feeders and introduce new motor feeders for compressors, dryers, and auxiliary systems.
- Guarantee compliance with the ADNOC Offshore Electrical Design Guidelines.
Compressor Package Integration (Critical Scope)
- Ensure proper electrical supply and motor starting techniques (Direct-On-Line (DOL), Variable Speed Drives (VSD), Soft Starters).
- Establish protection settings, interlocks, alarms, and shutdown protocols.
- Work in close coordination with Process & Control teams to define duty/standby logic.
- Validate vendor power specifications and control interfaces with DCS/ESD systems.
Collaboration with Engineering Subcontractor
- Review and sanction all electrical deliverables.
- Provide ADNOC Offshore standards and guidance to the subcontractor.
- Monitor engineering progress and troubleshoot technical challenges.
- Ensure timely completion of Section SOW deliverables.
OEM/Vendor Management (High Priority)
Engage directly with:
- Compressor Package OEM (e.g., Atlas Copco)
- Dryer/Receiver OEMs
- MCC/Switchgear OEM
- Control System OEMs (e.g., ABB DCS, Rockwell ESD, GE Fanuc/Emerson F&G, PMS/ECMS)
Key Activities:
- Review datasheets, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and power requirements.
- Validate interface wiring diagrams, control logic, and interlock systems.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), as well as vendor technical meetings.
- Coordinate vendor support during installation and commissioning phases.
Electrical & Control Interface Management
- Coordinate with other EPC projects (LTDP-1, Load Migration, Control Upgrades).
- Align with ADNOC Offshore Operations for shutdown and tie-in planning.
- Manage electrical interfaces with DCS/ESD/F&G/PMS/ECMS.
- Maintain and update the Interface Register and OMI Register.
Electrical Studies & Safety
- Conduct and review:
- Load flow analysis
- Short circuit calculations
- Motor starting studies
- Protection coordination
