Role overview
The Senior Functional Safety Systems Engineer leads analysis and assessment activities related to functional safety for the Compute Platform Systems team. This position works with software, hardware, and infrastructure groups to build a thorough functional safety case for autonomous trucks.
Main responsibilities
- Support the development of Compute Platform components, including embedded computing, data logging, LiDAR, radar, cameras, microphones, IMUs, and power distribution systems.
- Facilitate design discussions focused on functional safety with hardware, software, validation, and operational teams.
- Derive and define safety requirements so that system architecture and design align with safety concepts and industry standards.
- Conduct hazard analyses and risk assessments to identify and address potential safety concerns.
