The Anniston, Alabama facility supports a large fleet and works with hundreds of transit agencies.
Role overview
The Materials Coordinator manages key activities in the Materials department, including receiving, shipping, shop floor management, and planning. This position oversees all point-of-use locations and helps maintain efficient material flow throughout the facility. Ongoing training and development are part of this role.
What you will do
- Operate forklifts safely and complete required certifications.
- Track inventory accurately through regular counts and updates.
- Deliver materials to production lines and keep point-of-use locations stocked.
- Organize storage areas to prevent damage or loss of materials.
- Set up and maintain drop zones for material delivery and removal.
- Assist production teams with material handling and lifting tasks.
- Process and dispose of rejected or non-conforming materials daily.
- Manage waste disposal and monitor hopper or trash removal.
- Update visual management tools with part storage details.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace following 5S standards.
- Support workplace safety and help prevent incidents.
Requirements
- Experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or materials roles preferred.
- Forklift operation experience or willingness to obtain certification.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Strong attention to detail for inventory tracking.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and teamwork skills.
