Key responsibilities include ensuring smooth patient transitions, maintaining safe and clean care areas, and promoting patient satisfaction through professional and friendly interactions while safeguarding patient confidentiality.Key Responsibilities:Facilitates efficient patient flow:Escorts patients to examination rooms, verifies identity with two identifiers, and prepares them for examination.Accurately obtains vital signs as per organizational standards.Documents the reason for visit and updates allergies, smoking history, and pharmacy information.Immediately alerts the MD/APP of any significant changes in vital signs or acute symptoms.Anticipates and prepares equipment or supplies needed for patient visits.Cleans and prepares examination rooms for subsequent patients.Responds to needs to expedite visits, maintaining patient flow and prioritizing tasks effectively.Assists with referrals, transfers, and patient discharge processes.Assists MD/APP with medical and surgical procedures according to established protocols, including:Conducting Electrocardiograms (ECG), venipuncture, immunizations, setting up procedure trays, specimen collection, CLIA-waived testing, wound care, and splinting as directed.Calling in or electronically sending prescriptions as directed by the MD/APP.Delivers high-quality care by:Preparing and stocking all treatment area examination rooms in compliance with established protocols for disinfecting and sterilizing equipment and instruments.Participating in environmental safety rounds.Maintaining inventory of vaccines and medications.Ensuring medication cabinets are secured and locked appropriately.Monitoring and maintaining equipment and instruments in accordance with clinic guidelines.Assisting in ordering supplies and disposing of expired items appropriately.Adhering to office opening and closing protocols.Contributes as a vital member of the patient care team, enhancing patient satisfaction through professional and friendly interactions:Collaborates in a professional and cooperative manner with other practice staff.Accepts and performs delegated responsibilities positively.Offers assistance to colleagues.Actively participates in team meetings and training sessions.
