About the job
About Our Team
We are at the forefront of transforming autonomous driving technology, focused on creating robust metrics and evaluation frameworks that guarantee the safety, performance, and readiness of self-driving systems. Collaborating closely with engineering teams, we analyze both real-world and simulated driving data, empowering data-driven decisions that expedite the commercialization of autonomous vehicles. Our work addresses essential questions such as: 'How effectively does the vehicle navigate complex intersections? Does it ensure a safe experience for passengers during maneuvers? How do we statistically validate readiness for urban deployment?'
About This Role
We are looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our dynamic team and take a leading role in defining and assessing the performance metrics of autonomous vehicle systems. You will be responsible for designing and implementing quantitative metrics that evaluate driving behavior, safety compliance, and passenger comfort. This position involves analyzing extensive datasets, applying advanced statistical methods, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure our self-driving systems adhere to the highest safety and reliability standards. This is an exciting opportunity to significantly influence the future of autonomous driving technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze data from real-world and simulated autonomous vehicle experiments to assess system performance.
- Develop and enhance quantitative metrics (both rule-based and ML-driven) to evaluate driving behavior, safety, and passenger comfort.
- Utilize statistical inference and hypothesis testing to validate the reliability and sensitivity of metrics.
- Work alongside autonomy software, simulation, and safety teams to prioritize enhancements based on data-driven insights.
- Create scalable data pipelines to automate the computation and reporting of metrics.
- Review driving logs and engage in test rides to ground analyses in real-world performance.
