AECOM's Enterprise Capabilities team is looking for a skilled Senior Engineer in Transmission & Distribution (Secondary) to lead the design and implementation of secondary engineering systems for High Voltage Substations. This includes critical components such as protection, control, automation, and communication systems. The primary objective of this role is to deliver exceptional engineering outputs throughout all project phases, including FEED, Detailed Design, Construction, and Commissioning support, while ensuring compliance with technical standards, constructability, and the reliable operation of substations.Generate and present comprehensive secondary design documentation for HV Substations, encompassing:Protection & control schematicsWiring and interconnection diagramsCable schedules and termination drawingsProtection single line diagrams and logic diagramsPanel layouts and equipment arrangementsFormulate protection and control philosophies and contribute to Basis of Design documentation.Execute engineering designs for AC/DC auxiliary systems, control circuits, interlocking, and automation interfaces.Assist in relay configuration and the design of protection schemes (distance, differential, overcurrent, busbar, transformer protection, etc.).Guarantee that designs are practical, buildable, and in alignment with project scope, schedule, and budgetary constraints.Collaborate closely with the Project Engineer and/or Project Manager to facilitate engineering planning, track deliverables, and ensure technical coordination.Support projects across all phases: tender, design, construction, testing, and commissioning.Provide technical insights for engineering estimates, change management, and risk mitigation.Coordinate with primary, civil, and SCADA/telecom disciplines to ensure an integrated design free of clashes.Prepare and maintain superior engineering documentation, including:Design reports and calculationsProtection philosophies and relay setting inputsTechnical specifications and material requisitionsConduct self-checks and peer reviews of engineering outputs to confirm accuracy and compliance.Assist in factory acceptance testing (FAT), site testing, and commissioning documentation as necessary.Provide engineering support during construction, energization, and commissioning phases.Aid in resolving technical challenges pertaining to protection, control, and secondary systems.Offer limited technical guidance to junior engineers as needed, without formal mentorship responsibilities.Ensure all designs adhere to:International standards (IEC, IEEE)Utility and client technical specificationsCompany engineering procedures and quality requirementsStay informed about industry advancements and best practices in substation secondary engineering.
