AECOM's Enterprise Capabilities is in search of a seasoned Associate Director – Structural Engineering (Data Centers) to join our esteemed team in Bogota, Colombia. The ideal candidate will possess a robust expertise in structural engineering, specifically tailored for mission-critical facilities, with profound knowledge of the requirements for scalability, resilience, and rapidity in data center operations. This role is centered on providing technical leadership and project engineering management within the structural engineering discipline.Key Responsibilities:Structural Design for Data Centers: Take charge of developing innovative structural system designs specifically for data center operations, encompassing concrete and steel systems, accommodating high-load demands, vibration criteria, redundancy, and constructability requirements. Ensure that designs prioritize reliability, scalability, and efficiency in mission-critical settings.Structural Analysis and Capacity Planning: Engage in structural analysis and calculations for building and foundation systems, considering seismic, wind, and vibration loads while planning for future scalability and operational flexibility.Material Selection: Specify structural materials and systems, including steel frames, reinforced concrete, and foundation types (shallow, deep, mat, piles), alongside vibration mitigation solutions that meet operational requirements and safety standards.Design Documentation Supervision: Oversee the creation of design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and deep and shallow foundations.Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate effectively with mechanical, electrical, architectural, and geotechnical teams to ensure seamless integration of structural systems, thereby preventing clashes.Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to industry standards, such as ASCE, ACI, AISC, IBC, Eurocodes, and local regulations, ensuring designs align with regulatory and operational guidelines.Documentation Review: Conduct thorough reviews of technical drawings, calculation reports, specifications, and related documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.Effective Communication: Clearly convey design plans to clients, architects, contractors, and project stakeholders.Industry Awareness: Stay abreast of advancements and emerging technologies in structural engineering for data centers, including modular construction and innovative materials.Team Development: Mentor and nurture structural engineers, fostering professional growth and technical excellence within the team.
