ABOUT THE JOB
We are on the lookout for a Senior Structural Analyst to join our Omen Team at our Costa Mesa headquarters. Omen is Anduril’s groundbreaking hover-to-cruise autonomous air vehicle (AAV), which combines the endurance, payload, and mission versatility of larger aircraft into a compact, runway-independent Group 3 platform. Omen operates seamlessly from ship decks, beaches, or remote island clearings, ensuring true runway independence and operational flexibility across both defense and civilian sectors. With a significant mass-production contract for 50 systems, Omen is paving the way for future innovations.
In this role, you will engage in the development of new aircraft within a dynamic and ownership-driven culture, directly influencing the product and achieving flight-ready designs within months, not years.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Conduct static and dynamic structural analyses of composite and metallic materials using fundamental principles and diverse analytical methods (including hand calculations, spreadsheets, scripts, and detailed Finite Element Analysis).
- Develop and manage Finite Element Model (FEM) creation and organization at both global and subsystem levels.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to ensure design integrity based on analytical outcomes.
- Document analysis methodologies and findings in detailed technical reports for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support and conduct validation testing, including defining instrumentation needs, load requirements, data gathering, and model correlation.
- Participate in flight testing, including establishing Do Not Exceed values, monitoring load conditions, and addressing inspection results.
- Ensure all designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Stay updated on advancements in analysis techniques, material technologies, and industry standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or applied physics.
