Role OverviewAs a Senior Project Estimator at Rising Edge Group, you will report directly to the Lead Estimator. This pivotal role requires you to utilize your extensive estimating expertise to create detailed Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) proposals for large-scale high-voltage electrical projects. You will independently assess intricate Request for Proposal (RFP) packages, pinpoint cost and schedule uncertainties, and generate competitive estimates with minimal supervision. Collaboration with various internal teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls is essential to align on project scope, pricing strategies, and execution plans. Although this is not a supervisory role, you will provide mentorship and technical support to junior estimators, significantly contributing to the quality of proposals, cost accuracy, and strategic planning prior to contract awards.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently analyze RFP packages to assess project scope, commercial requirements, risks, and constructability.Develop comprehensive, multi-disciplinary EPC cost estimates for renewable energy, distribution, substation, generation, and industrial electrical projects.Lead the formulation of complete proposal packages, including:Execution plansCost breakdowns and assumptionsProject schedules utilizing MS Project or PrimaveraRisk registers and mitigation strategiesOptional pricing and alternative methodologiesEnvironmental, Safety, Quality, and Inspection Test Plans (ITP)Executive summariesOrganize and conduct site visits to gather field data and inform constructability assessments.Review technical documentation (e.g., drawings, Design Basis Memoranda, specifications) to identify scope gaps or discrepancies.Engage with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to gather and verify pricing data.Maintain thorough records of all estimating bases throughout the proposal development process.Facilitate internal estimate reviews, providing comprehensive justifications and breakdowns to stakeholders.Conduct final bid submission reviews with authorized internal signatories.Contribute to strategic planning for complex proposals, exploring alternative methods, value engineering solutions, and cost-saving opportunities.Offer peer reviews and mentorship to junior estimators through collaborative tasks and technical feedback.Assist in enhancing estimating tools, templates, and best practices.Conduct formal estimate transition meetings with the Project Management team post-contract award.Support the preparation and submission of change orders and scope adjustments.Participate in project closeout and post-project reviews to drive continuous improvement.Attend regular estimating team meetings to share updates, challenges, and insights.
