Role Overview: Field Mechanical Engineer - Assembly
This on-site position is based at the CFS-2 facility in Devens, MA. The Field Mechanical Engineer joins the Assembly Team, focusing on the SPARC Tokamak project. Daily work centers on hands-on problem solving, supporting technicians, and ensuring the assembly process moves forward smoothly.
What You Will Do
- Guide and support technicians during the SPARC assembly, troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Develop practical solutions to keep assembly work progressing on schedule
- Source, design, or fabricate small tools and fixtures needed for assembly tasks
- Collaborate with teams such as Assembly Process and Metrology to implement process changes
- Assist with precise alignment of coils and other critical structures
- Contribute engineering expertise to the integration of large components in a multi-million dollar project
