- Oversee and manage the costing process for food businesses, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Precisely allocate direct and indirect costs to relevant activities.
- Monitor and analyze costs associated with core food operations, including tracking input costs such as materials, packaging, labor, and manufacturing overhead to ensure optimal usage.
- Verify that current Bills of Materials (BOMs) are up-to-date and compliant within the ERP system.
- Ensure the accuracy of direct material costs and the correct application of pricing methods.
- Compile monthly costing reports detailing raw material usage.
- Review all manufacturing overhead expenditures for proper allocation and ensure that all unpaid expenses are accrued accordingly.
- Analyze purchase price variances and material usage variances, challenging the reasons behind these variances to enhance accountability and drive future improvements.
- Calculate daily labor costs and allocate them to cost centers, comparing actual costs against budgeted figures and investigating variances.
- Generate monthly and quarterly cost reports broken down by SKU.
- Provide cost analyses and strategic recommendations to help control expenses and boost operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate cost tracking.
- Mentor junior accountants and review their work to ensure high standards of quality and accuracy.
