AECOM is actively looking for a dynamic Associate Director to join our Security and Technology Engineering team. This role presents a unique opportunity to significantly influence upcoming construction initiatives in major urban centers across Europe and globally.
The AECOM Security & Technology Engineering team operates as a specialized unit within our Building Engineering division, delivering expert Security and Technology design and support services that complement and enhance the broader building engineering efforts.
Our Buildings Engineering team consists of approximately 400 engineers engaged in large-scale construction projects, with a focus on specialized projects in London and internationally. We engage in various sectors including major commercial builds, intricate fit-out projects, Critical National Infrastructure (CNI), and numerous other sectors.
Your Responsibilities
As the Associate Director, you will oversee high-level technical and strategic security engineering services for new builds and fit-out projects throughout the RIBA stages. Key activities include:
- Conducting thorough risk assessments, formulating mitigation strategies, and drafting operational requirements.
- Leading master planning efforts for projects, from city-level initiatives to mixed-use developments.
- Designing bespoke physical security solutions encompassing electronic locking systems, walling, glazing, doors, barriers, and fencing.
- Creating detailed electronic security designs for systems such as video surveillance, access control, intruder detection, and intercom systems.
- Providing expert counter-terrorism guidance, inclusive of Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM), bomb blast considerations, and ballistic protection (in collaboration with specialists).
