We are on the lookout for a seasoned Civil Engineer with extensive experience in substation construction. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. This role involves leading civil construction operations for high-voltage substations, ensuring adherence to design criteria, safety norms, and project timelines. Your expertise in civil engineering principles, foundation construction, site preparation, and stakeholder coordination, particularly with EPC contractors, will be crucial. Key Responsibilities:
1. Civil Construction & Site Oversight:
- Manage and supervise all civil construction tasks associated with substation projects, including foundations for equipment, control room buildings, trenches, roads, drainage systems, and structural works.
- Ensure compliance with engineering designs, specifications, and industry standards (IEC, IEEE, ASTM, etc.).
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality assessments to uphold high construction standards.
- Work closely with electrical and project teams to guarantee proper integration of civil works.
2. Project Planning & Implementation:
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents effectively.
- Create construction schedules, work plans, and material procurement strategies.
- Track project progress to ensure milestones are achieved on time.
- Proactively identify and address risks or potential delays in construction activities.
3. Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and industry standards throughout construction processes.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures.
- Uphold strict adherence to site safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
4. Coordination & Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with design engineers, project managers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Provide technical support and direction to construction teams.
- Compile and submit progress reports, Daily Progress Reports (DPR), Weekly Progress Reports (WPR), documentation, and site logs.
5. Quality Assurance & Material Management:
- Ensure all construction materials meet project specifications.
- Conduct quality control tests for soil, concrete, and other civil construction materials.
- Approve material submissions and method statements prior to execution.
