Join The Exploration Company as we embark on an exciting journey to develop, produce, and operate Nyx, an innovative modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that is designed for future refueling in orbit and capable of transporting cargo and potentially humans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization and intricate design, development, and testing of a cutting-edge hypergolic propulsion system, which includes engines, valves, propellant feed systems, storage tanks, and pressurization mechanisms for a crewed spacecraft.
- Conduct vehicle-level system trade studies to optimize performance.
- Ensure seamless integration across propulsion and other systems, including structural components, avionics, and operational protocols. Facilitate technical reviews and navigate complex propulsion system trades.
- Perform comprehensive analyses, including initial sizing and specifications of propulsion systems and components, instrumentation, pressure vessels, and fluid systems.
- Develop and assess initial propellant budgets, along with associated budgets for pressurants.
- Oversee the strategic planning and execution of propulsion system and component development, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within financial parameters, and in compliance with established requirements.
- Lead the planning and execution of component and integrated system testing.
- Build, guide, and manage a team of propulsion engineers, technicians, and external partners, providing mentorship and support as needed.
