Become a Force for Good at Axon.At Axon, our mission centers around protecting life. We are pioneers tackling society's most pressing safety and justice challenges through our advanced ecosystem of devices and cloud-based software. We believe that collaboration is key to success, embracing diverse perspectives from our customers, communities, and each other.Working at Axon is dynamic, fulfilling, and impactful. Here, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your work and drive meaningful change, all while growing personally and professionally in a company that values your contributions.Your ImpactAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take technical ownership of mechanical systems and assemblies throughout the entire product lifecycle—from conception and architecture to prototyping, qualification, and production. You will leverage your hands-on mechanical engineering expertise, problem-solving abilities, and technical leadership to influence both our products and the engineering processes that create them. What You’ll DoLead the development of mechanical systems and subsystems across the complete product lifecycle.Design robust mechanical solutions for fixed, portable, and mobile cUAS systems.Create housings, structures, and mounting concepts with a focus on thermal performance, weight reduction, stiffness, and environmental durability.Utilize structural and thermal simulation (e.g., FEA, thermal analysis) to inform design choices and validate concepts.Engage actively in prototyping, testing, and iterative design enhancements.Tackle real-world hardware challenges by identifying root causes and implementing practical, reliable solutions.Collaborate closely with electrical, RF, and systems engineers on mechanical-electrical integration.Work with manufacturing partners on design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA), material selection, surface treatments, and production methodologies.Support qualification efforts, including temperature, shock, vibration, and environmental testing.Participate in design reviews, contribute to engineering best practices, and continuously enhance mechanical design standards.Serve as a technical mentor, sharing insights and expertise with the engineering team.
