Your Role
As a Senior Mobile Engineer focusing on POS terminals, you will take charge of developing, optimizing, and maintaining high-performance Android applications utilized in extensive transaction settings.
Collaboration will be key as you work alongside Mobile Architects, Backend Engineers, Product Managers, and Hardware teams to create reliable, secure, and scalable POS functionalities. This role demands not just strong hands-on Android development skills but also a comprehensive understanding of payment processes and experience in integrating with POS hardware and EMV standards.
You will be responsible for managing complex features from inception to deployment while engaging in system design discussions and ensuring high standards of engineering excellence throughout the codebase.
Your Responsibilities
- Feature Development & Ownership
- Design, implement, and maintain Android-based POS terminal applications using Java/Kotlin.
- Oversee the complete development of crucial transaction flows including sales, refunds, reversals, and settlements.
- Collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs and ensure dependable transaction synchronization.
- Implement offline-first capabilities to enhance functionality in low-connectivity scenarios.
- Payments & Security
- Integrate EMV chip, contactless (NFC), and card-present transaction methods.
- Work with encryption standards, key management processes, and secure payment SDKs.
- Ensure adherence to payment security best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to transactions in production environments.
- Hardware Integration
- Integrate and support POS peripherals such as card readers, pin pads, printers, and scanners.
- Work with OEM SDKs for Android-based POS terminals.
