You will lead the design of the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) system, encompassing both hardware and software elements to address the positional, attitude, stability, and knowledge requirements of our satellite buses. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the design from the ground up and influence design trades across the vehicle architecture. This position reports directly to the Director of Spacecraft.Responsibilities:Create and implement GNC algorithms for satellite systems, including attitude and orbit determination and control, as well as precision pointing.Conduct spacecraft dynamics analysis and perform simulations to assess system performance, stability, and accuracy.Design, develop, and test spacecraft control systems, including reaction wheels, thrusters, and magnetic torquers, to fulfill mission objectives.Collaborate with spacecraft and payload engineers to establish system requirements and ensure GNC system compatibility and integration.Perform trade studies and recommend optimal GNC configurations, considering power consumption, mass, and cost.Develop and execute test plans and procedures for GNC systems, including system-level testing, performance evaluation, and anomaly resolution.Analyze and interpret spacecraft telemetry data to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
