Kobalt Music Publishing is seeking a skilled and dynamic Director of Contract Administration to spearhead our global Contract Administration team. This pivotal role demands exceptional leadership, adept people management, and excellent communication skills, alongside a strategic approach to enhance processes and scalability.
Reporting directly to the VP of Core Administration Services, you will be responsible for the comprehensive onboarding process, ensuring that contracts and works are accurately entered, whether through manual input or large data sets, including CWR v2.2, CWR v2.1, catalogue shipment, CIF, and .csv formats. You will also play a crucial role in managing workloads, tracking capacity, and optimizing team resources while providing essential insights to leadership and cross-functional partners.

Key Responsibilities
You will oversee the Contract Administration function at Kobalt and lead all Contract Administration personnel globally.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the ingestion of contracts and works, both manually and through large data sets, including formats such as CWR v2.2, CWR v2.1, catalogue shipment, CIF, and .csv.
- Ensuring the successful administration of contractual obligations related to song delivery and release commitments, guaranteeing compliance with contractual milestones for advances, options, and extensions.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with teams from Business Affairs, Copyright, and Royalty departments to ensure effective management of Kobalt’s contracts.
- Formulating strategies for large onboardings, determining optimal methods for ingesting extensive catalogs into the system, and aligning resources to facilitate this process.
- Developing and maintaining a system for tracking team capacity and workload management in partnership with department leadership, delivering weekly updates regarding team capacity to leadership and key cross-functional stakeholders.
- Setting clear expectations for team members across various roles, from Assistant to Manager.
- Identifying and resolving workflow bottlenecks through cross-functional collaboration to enhance efficiency.
- Providing expert guidance on catalog registrations, royalties, statements, and general administrative matters concerning client accounts.
