Your Impact on Our Mission
As the Workplace Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the seamless daily operations of Normal's offices, starting with our primary location in New York City and expanding to our sites in London, Copenhagen, and San Francisco, with future plans for Seoul and potentially France. Based in our New York office, you'll collaborate with local teams to ensure they have the resources needed to fulfill our mission, cultivate the Normal culture, and maintain operational efficiency across all locations.
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a significant impact. You will establish the frameworks, vendor relationships, tools, and operational rhythms necessary to scale workplace operations as Normal transitions from a startup to a global leader.
Success in this role will be characterized by offices that operate smoothly without constant oversight, vendor partnerships that meet established standards, a memorable onboarding process for new hires, and the agility to launch new locations swiftly as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations: Manage the facilities, supplies, maintenance, and office environments to ensure high standards, while also supervising catering programs, vendor contracts, and quality control.
Budget management: Monitor expenditures, manage costs, identify inefficiencies, and collaborate with the Finance team on budget planning and expense reviews.
Space planning and real estate oversight: Maintain office layouts, seating arrangements, and capacity tracking; support strategic space planning based on team growth; facilitate internal relocations, desk assignments, and reconfigurations; assist with lease management and landlord negotiations.
Lead office expansion efforts: Develop repeatable processes for launching new office locations as Normal scales. Document playbooks for efficient office setups.
