The Chief Building Engineer is responsible for leading our Engineering team, overseeing all aspects of building maintenance, repair, and operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring high tenant satisfaction, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all building maintenance operations, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Monitor and optimize building energy usage to ensure efficient operations.
- Manage contractor work and direct tenant improvement projects.
- Develop and manage budgets, including inventory control and purchasing.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate engineering staff; create performance goals and development plans.
- Engage with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable operations and resolve tenant issues.
- Collaborate with vendors to define scopes of work and enforce compliance with contracts.
- Conduct routine inspections to verify system efficiency; maintain detailed documentation and compliance logs.
- Adhere to safety protocols, enforce OSHA, NEC, NFC, NFPA regulations, and oversee safety training.
- Communicate effectively with team members, leadership, vendors, and tenants, providing necessary updates.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
