JOB SUMMARY
Join our esteemed Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team within the Department of Pediatric Cardiology at Stanford Medicine Children's Health. Our collaborative team consists of Attending Physicians, Fellows, and dedicated advanced practice providers, including Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs). As a highly regarded member of this team, you will play a pivotal role in the education of fellows and visiting residents. Key responsibilities include receiving sign-out from the overnight team, pre-rounding on assigned patients, developing daily care plans, presenting patients during rounds, writing daily notes, and implementing agreed-upon plans while addressing any concerns raised by nursing staff. Our APPs are credentialed to perform critical procedures including intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, PD drain placement, chest tube removal, and pacing wire removal.
Nurse Practitioner (NP): The Nurse Practitioner operates under the approved Nurse Practitioner Standardized Process Protocol, providing routine care and managing patients with both acute and chronic conditions in partnership with supervising physicians and through established standardized procedures. Specific functions are tailored to the service, clinic, or department, and are approved by medical and nursing administrators, the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC), and the Stanford Hospital and Clinics (SHC) Medical Executive Board.
Physician Assistant (PA): The Physician Assistant functions in accordance with the approved Physician Assistant Role Description, with specific duties determined in collaboration with supervising physicians and sanctioned by appropriate medical and nursing authorities, the IDPC, and the SHC Medical Board.
