The Role
In this pivotal role, you will manage FORT's supply chain operations comprehensively, overseeing vendor purchase orders, safety stock, relationships with contract manufacturers, and demand planning. This hands-on position requires close collaboration with sales and customer experience teams to align forecasting with inventory needs, as well as working with engineering to establish supply chains for new products.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage safety stock levels for all active SKUs; proactively identify risks before they impact customer satisfaction.
- Generate rolling demand forecasts utilizing Salesforce pipeline data and historical sales velocity; translate these forecasts into purchase order decisions that align with contract manufacturer lead times.
- Manage all purchase orders with contract manufacturers, including placement, tracking, receipt confirmation, and escalation of issues.
- Enhance supplier fill rates and lead time performance; explore dual-source options for key vendors.
- Coordinate First Article Inspections for new batches from contract manufacturers with the Operations team.
- Prepare weekly and monthly KPI reports per SOP, covering metrics such as backorder rates, stock-out occurrences, inspection pass rates, and inventory turnover.
- Maintain Fishbowl as the authoritative system of record, ensuring PO records, lead times, and stock data are accurate and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with Engineering during new product development to assess component sourcing options, establish approved vendor lists, and optimize BOM costs before finalizing designs.
- Support ISO 9001 compliance by maintaining auditable inventory and procurement records.
