Maintain and repair irrigation systems, replacing heads and adjusting nozzles as necessary. Prune and shape trees and shrubs to promote natural growth. Plant shrubs and ground covers to enhance landscape aesthetics. Evaluate and report on landscape conditions and maintenance needs. Lead landscape projects from inception to completion with a proactive approach. Work independently to identify project needs, create timelines, and allocate resources effectively. Requirements A minimum of 4 years' experience in the landscape industry. At least 3 years of experience with irrigation systems. A commitment to upholding the health and maintenance of an urban arboretum. Strong horticultural knowledge. Proficiency in using hand tools such as shovels and pruners, as well as power tools like blowers and chainsaws. Physical capability to walk extensively, climb stairs and ladders, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds using proper techniques. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities. A self-motivated individual who can work independently and take initiative. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. A valid California driver’s license and a personal vehicle are required for this position (mileage will be reimbursed).
