OverviewA leading acute care hospital in Northern Virginia is in search of a seasoned Director of Surgical Services to spearhead a multifaceted perioperative service line.This executive role demands strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across diverse surgical platforms, including inpatient and outpatient surgery, endoscopy, robotics, and cardiovascular services. The Director will collaborate closely with executive leadership and physicians to promote growth, enhance quality, ensure physician alignment, and achieve operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Deliver strategic leadership for all perioperative services, encompassing operating rooms, endoscopy, and specialized surgical programs.Establish and implement a long-term vision for the growth, innovation, and market differentiation of surgical services.Foster strong collaborative relationships with surgeons, anesthesiology, nursing leadership, and executive teams.Supervise daily operations, staffing models, throughput, and optimization of surgical scheduling.Champion evidence-based practice initiatives to guarantee high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care.Ensure adherence to all regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards.Direct performance improvement initiatives focused on quality outcomes, patient experience, and efficiency.Manage departmental budgets, capital planning, and resource utilization effectively.Develop, mentor, and retain perioperative leadership talent while supporting succession planning and career development.Utilize data and metrics to drive decision-making, accountability, and performance in the service line.
