About the job
Who We Are → About Matter Labs
At Matter Labs, we are driven by the belief that freedom is the catalyst for progress and prosperity. Our mission is to promote freedom for everyone through the widespread adoption of cryptocurrency.
To realize this vision, we are developing ZKsync, a verifiable blockchain network secured by zero-knowledge proofs. With over $250 million in backing from some of the most intelligent investors globally, we move swiftly, deliver frequently, and evaluate ourselves based on the outcomes we produce.
Currently, over 20 teams are either running or building custom ZKsync chains on our network, including crypto leaders like Crypto.com, Abstract, and Lens, along with global corporations such as Deutsche Bank and Xsolla.

This position combines practical security work with the chance to shape protocol security from the inception of development. Your primary focus will be on protecting ZKsync’s core elements, smart contracts, ZK circuits, and blockchain nodes, while remaining at the forefront of security research and best industry practices.
This opportunity is perfect for individuals who are inquisitive, enjoy challenging systems, and wish to apply that mindset ethically in a high-stakes environment.
Your Responsibilities
Deliberately testing systems, performing threat modeling and internal audits of Solidity contracts, blockchain state transition functions (Rust), and other critical infrastructures.
Monitoring emerging hacks, exploits, and attack vectors across the industry, and converting lessons learned into practical security enhancements.
Instilling security best practices within development teams and advocating for secure design principles.
