Previously, the waterproofing class TC1 was often the standard (with self-healing as a mechanism to seal shrinkage cracks), but this approach is now being challenged by cement types with low Portland clinker content. Consequently, self-healing cannot be taken for granted.The demand for waterproofing class TC2, which prohibits the occurrence of continuous cracks, is becoming increasingly relevant.
