RESPEC is seeking four Senior Database Administrators (DBAs) , comprising two Senior SQL DBAs and two Senior Oracle DBAs , to bolster a significant federal initiative aimed at modernizing and enhancing mission-critical database operations. These secured, remote positions will be pivotal in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of multifaceted enterprise database environments across various technologies.
The ideal candidates will be seasoned professionals with a minimum of eight years of extensive experience in database administration, system optimization, patch management, clustering, and troubleshooting for both SQL and Oracle platforms. You will collaborate within a security-focused team dedicated to sustaining and optimizing high-availability architectures that support federal operational and analytical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Operations and Maintenance
- Manage, configure, and maintain SQL Server, Oracle, and related database systems (including both clustered and standalone setups).
- Perform daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to guarantee optimal system operations.
- Apply and test patches, manage upgrades, and oversee database versioning and migrations.
- Development and Optimization
- Assist in schema design, storage strategies, indexing, and query optimization.
- Create and maintain processes, scripts, and tools for database automation, fault monitoring, and auditing.
- High Availability & Recovery
- Design, implement, and test backup/recovery procedures and disaster recovery solutions.
- Ensure replication, failover, and clustering configurations meet rigorous uptime requirements.
- Security & Compliance
- Establish and enforce database security measures, user management, and access policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity and data handling regulations.
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with systems engineers, developers, and project teams to integrate databases with applications and cloud services.
- Maintain thorough documentation of database configurations, architectures, and standard operating procedures.
