As a Stress Engineer at Sogeclair, you will play a pivotal role in assessing the structural integrity of aircraft components, ensuring that they meet safety, reliability, and compliance standards. You will leverage advanced simulation tools and conduct in-depth calculations to evaluate strength, fatigue, and durability under various operational and environmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in defining concepts for primary and secondary structural elements of aircraft.
- Utilize diverse analytical methods to evaluate the integrity of these structural elements.
- Review design models to validate their adequacy through hand calculations and sound engineering judgment.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) to confirm performance under operational loads.
- Ensure that all analyses adhere to fundamental analysis assumptions.
- Contribute to the establishment of certification testing requirements.
- Assist in crafting technical reports, stress justifications, and certification documents for regulatory approval.
- Support the development of innovative calculation methodologies.
- Collaborate across various technical disciplines concerning materials and structural components.
- Provide early input to design teams regarding stress-related requirements.
- Perform fatigue and damage tolerance (F&DT) analysis as required.
- Share your technical expertise and knowledge with team members.
- Act as a reference point for stress analysis in weight team projects if necessary.
- Familiarize yourself with AS 9100 standard requirements pertinent to this role.
