Role overview
The Fabrication Lead works on the shop floor in Plymouth, Utah, guiding team members and supporting daily production. This role centers on leadership, accountability, and clear communication. Advanced fabrication or welding skills are not the main focus. The Lead serves as a link between production staff and management, making sure safety, quality, and workflow standards are met every day.
Reporting structure
- Department: Production / Fabrication
- Reports to: Fabrication Supervisor
Key responsibilities
- Work alongside production employees to keep workflow moving and support daily fabrication needs.
- Provide hands-on leadership and daily direction to assigned team members.
- Coordinate labor, tools, materials, and priorities so production goals are met.
- Coach team members on company processes and expectations through regular, direct engagement.
- Lead by example to promote discipline, teamwork, and communication in the shop.
- Track progress and completed work using Tekla PowerFab Go, keeping production status visible and accurate for leadership.
- Stay involved in shop tasks while monitoring job status and sharing timely updates to help with planning and coordination.

This position is different from the Welder/Fabricator Progression Program. It does not require advanced fabrication or welding certifications. Instead, it recognizes employees who excel in leadership, accountability, and supporting production through effective communication and training.
