Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProficient in troubleshooting machinery to diagnose issues. Familiarity with basic electrical codes, including wiring, electrical components, switches, and control centers. Ability to read and interpret schematics and operating manuals. Skills in fitting fluid lines and pipes. Experience assembling and disassembling mechanical parts and systems. Creative problem-solving skills to address production challenges. Strong verbal communication skills with team members, supervisors, and engineers. Able to work in confined spaces and handle solvents, oils, and grease. Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.

Join our dynamic team as a Field Service Technician, based in the Lansing, MI or Elizabethtown, KY area. In this role, you will travel to client facilities to oversee and conduct hands-on work related to the disassembly, repair, and assembly of various subassemblies and complete mechanical and forging presses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety protocols are followed, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Lead, manage, and coordinate maintenance and repair activities with both customers and Enprotech staff.
  • Act as a liaison at customer sites for daily operations and planning.
  • Assemble, repair, and rebuild manufacturing equipment per standard operating procedures and customer specifications.
  • Interpret and execute basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and other written instructions to accurately assemble products.
  • Perform disassembly and reassembly of metal forming presses, including tasks such as rigging, fitting, scraping, grinding, and adjustments.
  • Install lubrication blocks, lines, and plumbing systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic lubrication systems to identify necessary repairs.
  • Align machines and equipment using various tools including hoists, jacks, and measuring instruments.
  • Utilize basic hand tools, such as ratchets, impacts, torque multipliers, and hydraulic jacks.
  • Ensure parts are properly prepped and defect-free prior to assembly.
  • Conduct quality checks to guarantee products meet established standards using process inspection tools.
  • Operate small lathes and mills for polishing parts.
  • Handle cranes, forklifts, and other rigging equipment.
