Opportunity Overview

Each project presents unique challenges, and contributors may be tasked with:

  • Creating original computational statistics problems that reflect genuine mathematical research workflows;
  • Formulating problems that require Python programming for solutions (utilizing libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy);
  • Designing problems that are computationally intensive, taking days or weeks to solve manually;
  • Developing scenarios that demand complex reasoning across areas like number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis;
  • Grounding problems in real research challenges or practical applications in mathematics;
  • Validating solutions using Python and standard mathematical libraries;
  • Clearly documenting problem statements and supplying verified correct answers.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This opportunity is well-suited for statistics experts with Python experience, open to engaging in part-time, non-permanent projects. We prefer candidates who have:

  • A degree in Statistics or a related field;
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical validation, with knowledge of MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other domain-specific libraries considered equivalent;
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied research or teaching;
