Fuel and Lube Technician
Reports to: Foreman – Turner Mining Group
Job Overview:
The Fuel and Lube Technician is an essential role within Turner Mining Group, focused on the maintenance and upkeep of equipment. Key Responsibilities:
The Fuel and Lube Technician is responsible for effective communication and safe production practices while ensuring high efficiency, proactive training metrics, and awareness of preventative maintenance requirements. The individual will take personal ownership of safety and hold peers accountable to maintain the highest standards. Additional duties include supporting production functions as required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate hazard identification and control.
- Engage with crews and leadership to develop processes that foster teamwork and common objectives.
- Assist with MSHA regulatory training and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Integrate company values into daily decision-making.
- Support training proficiency audits.
- Participate in risk assessment processes across various organizational levels.
- Demonstrate ownership mentality by caring for equipment, conserving resources, managing time efficiently, and being accountable for actions and conditions.
- Uphold cleanliness standards in work areas and machinery.
Communication and Culture:
- Effective verbal communication in English is required; multilingual skills are a plus.
- Collaborate with project leaders to identify improvement opportunities.
- Promote proactive near-miss reporting within crews.
- Lead by setting a strong example.
Technical Skills:
- Perform thorough pre-operation machine inspections according to mobile equipment standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation for training checklists and regulatory forms.
- Possess a valid and insurable driving license.
Flexibility and Commitment:
- Ability to adapt to varying shift schedules (day and night) to meet training and production needs.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and eager to collaborate in improving processes.
