The General Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that all equipment and company assets are functioning optimally. This position involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing various electromechanical systems within a food processing environment, all while upholding safety protocols and adhering to established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct troubleshooting and repairs, providing technical support for all operational phases.
- Interpret and apply information from technical manuals and training documentation.
- Manage the handling and distribution of cleaning chemicals, along with accurate data recording.
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the department.
- Adhere to safety regulations, food safety standards, GMP, and SQF compliance.
- Participate in rotational duties as necessary.
- Demonstrate proficiency in various skill sets, including basic electrical systems, fluid power, mechanical systems, welding, and fabrication.
- Maintain physical readiness to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, and reaching, including the ability to navigate stairs and ladders.
- Capable of lifting and moving up to 75 pounds.
- Prior experience or formal education in mechanical maintenance is preferred.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and comprehend technical documentation effectively.
