Qualifications

Essential QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in designing electrical harnessing for rugged commercial, industrial, aerospace, or military applications. Proven experience collaborating with harness manufacturers to produce high-quality, high-reliability products. Familiarity with prevalent electrical bus interfaces such as CAN, Ethernet, RS422, RS232, and 1553.Knowledge of existing harness standards and MIL-STD requirements. Ability to apply SWaP principles to power, network, and communications systems and designs. Skilled in reading wire block interconnection diagrams and interpreting technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage your engineering expertise to design, fabricate, and integrate harness systems, serving as the harness discipline representative for projects.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to plan, design, and develop harnesses that satisfy diverse technical specifications.
  • Research and procure optimal connectors, back-shells, contacts, wire, shielding, and cable constructions that meet stringent environmental criteria.
  • Create detailed harness system block diagrams and wire diagrams for production release.
  • Engage in design reviews, providing insights to identify challenges and influence design decisions.
  • Draft comprehensive harness assembly instructions and testing protocols, incorporating industry standards and best practices.
  • Guide the electrical team in determining electrical system requirements based on inputs from internal and external stakeholders, including engineering (mechanical, electrical, software), product management, quality, and compliance teams.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment while supporting new developments, active deployments, and customer-operated hardware.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently at various stages of development.
