We are currently in search of an Internal Controls and Audit Support Analyst to enhance our USTRANSCOM (United States Transportation Command) program at Scott AFB in O'Fallon, IL. The Analyst will play a vital role in providing robust financial reporting and accounting operations support, which includes overseeing day-to-day activities, implementing internal controls, and conducting thorough analyses of consolidated and component-level financial statements.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Facilitating general ledger transactions, managing trial balances, G-Invoicing, Fund Balance with Transfer (FBwT), Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E), accounts payable, accounts receivable, unsupported accounting adjustments, intragovernmental transactions, and intradepartmental eliminations.
- Identifying any non-conformance with GAAP, suggesting corrective action plans (CAPs), and drafting implementation instructions.
- Advising on appropriate accounting treatment and ensuring accurate account postings for compliance with GAAP.
- Providing support in essential areas such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Billing, Cash Management, Expenses, Financial Reporting, Funds Balance with Treasury, Imputed Costs, Internal Use Software, Intragovernmental Transactions (G-Invoicing), Journal Vouchers, Property, Plant, and Equipment, Revenue, and Trading Partner Eliminations.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to gather current information for the development of quarterly draft Agency Financial Reports (AFR) and recommending changes to enhance compliance with OMB Circular A-136.
- Assisting in the development of feeder system reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements through the ADVANA platform and recommending corrective actions to address variances.
- Providing data cleanup support, identifying transactions needing corrections, and preparing supporting documentation.
- Assisting in refining the financial reporting process, which includes gathering reports, performing analyses, executing reconciliations, and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and business process narratives.
