The Position
The Engineering Team Leader is pivotal in guiding a team, ensuring their collective success, and advocating for their needs. This role involves managing team dynamics and inspiring each member to reach their potential, rather than being the sole expert in the group. The focus is on optimizing team performance and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a small product team of 3-5 engineers specializing in both backend and frontend development.
- Dedicate 30% of your time to management tasks while actively participating in product development.
- Engage in the hiring process to build your team and assist peers as needed.
- Oversee the onboarding of new engineering team members.
- Act as the voice of your team, managing dynamics and fostering individual strengths.
- Provide continuous, constructive feedback to team members.
- Facilitate ongoing growth within the team and oversee the career development of each direct report.
