About the job
The Group Director of Brand and Demand Strategy at Directive leads the strategic direction for all new client engagements. This remote position shapes the framework and approach used to achieve each client's business goals, with a direct impact on converting pilot projects into long-term partnerships across Performance, Communications, and Commerce sectors.
Why This Role Matters
Directive’s growth model centers on a 90-day pilot: if successful, clients transition to a 12-month contract. The strategy crafted during the first 30 days of each pilot is pivotal. Until now, the CEO has owned this responsibility. As Directive grows, the company seeks an experienced strategist to take over and scale this function, focusing on quality over quantity.
This role is designed for a single, highly skilled leader who can define strategic direction across a range of industries (including Services, Industrial, and B2B Commerce) and service lines (such as Paid Media, Paid Social, SEO, Content, LLM/AI, Creative, Programmatic, Communications, and RevOps).
What You Will Do
- Develop Strategic Theses for New Engagements: Analyze each client’s business, build a tailored strategy, organize workflows, and align channel teams. Set the overall direction that account teams and strategists will execute.
- Drive Pilot-to-Retainer Conversion: Take responsibility for the percentage of 90-day pilots that convert to 12-month retainers. The strength of the initial 30-day strategy will be a key factor in this metric.
- Ensure Strategic Coherence Across Capabilities: Integrate Paid Media, SEO, Content, Creative, Programmatic, RevOps, and Communications for each client. Ensure these channels reinforce one another, rather than operating in silos.
- Build Consultative Partnerships: Maintain strong, consultative relationships with subject matter experts across all channels to enhance strategic execution throughout the organization.
