Your Role and Contributions
The Advanced MCE Wind Technician within our Main Component Exchange (MCE) division will be an essential team leader responsible for overseeing and supporting field operations with a primary focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. This role will involve performing repairs and diagnostics at height on critical wind turbine components, including Generator Bearings, Generator Slip Rings, Rotor & Stator Cables, Gearbox HSS replacement, HSS bearings, IMS replacement, IMS bearings, Yaw Drive Repair/Exchange, Generator Exchanges, and Trunnion Pin Repairs. Please note that this position requires 100% travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor team members in safe lifting operations involving equipment at heights exceeding 250 feet.
- Supervise lifting operations, ensuring skills verification for large components and the ability to create, review, amend, and correct lifting plans.
- Execute safe and efficient repairs on all Wind Turbine electrical systems.
- Conduct Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures on equipment as an Authorized Person.
- Carry out pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), Risk Assessments (RAs), and daily safety discussions.
- Maintain professional interactions with vendors and customers.
- Accurately document all work in various electronic formats and provide constructive feedback to the Safety and Quality department for continuous improvement.
Note: Specific duties may evolve over time based on business and client requirements.
Core Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with one or more turbine platforms.
- Experience specific to turbine operations is mandatory.
