- Serve as a pivotal medical, technical, and scientific resource, guiding medical affairs objectives within the affiliate. This role demands a deep understanding of patient care and the ability to leverage medical and scientific knowledge to engage healthcare professionals on clinical and scientific matters pertinent to AbbVie's portfolio.
- Oversee the management of annual expenses, ensuring adherence to assigned budgetary parameters.
- Ensure precise and timely documentation of medical lead activities.
- Adhere to all AbbVie internal policies and regulatory requirements, including compliance with ethical standards, environmental health and safety, financial protocols, human resources practices, and overall business objectives.
- Foster and maintain professional relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and researchers in relevant therapeutic areas to guarantee access to the latest medical and scientific advancements related to AbbVie products.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial leaders in business planning and with Therapeutic leads & Director of Medical Affairs to establish priorities and initiatives.
- Present data regarding AbbVie products to healthcare professionals, including physicians, academics, and researchers, upon request.
- Support research initiatives driven by AbbVie’s R&D, Clinical Operations, and Medical Affairs Departments as needed.
- Act as an internal medical and scientific expert for AbbVie’s therapeutic areas, contributing to the development of medically accurate disease-state and product communications and materials in line with regulatory guidelines.
- Assist in organizing Round Table and Advisory Board sessions to ensure the accuracy of scientific and clinical data shared.
- Conduct ongoing training for medical affairs, field sales, and other internal teams as required.
- This role involves significant travel (approximately 60% of the time), serving as the local representative for Global Medical Office functions such as Pharmacovigilance and Health Economics and Outcomes Research.
