Qualifications
Associate degree or a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience. Proficient in medical terminology and possess clinical experience in a healthcare setting. Aseptic technique knowledge is preferred but not mandatory. Exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail are essential. Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with the MS Office Suite and Outlook, with the ability to learn NEDS’s internal systems. Must be available to work long hours, including overnight shifts, holidays, and weekends. Must reside within a 60-minute commute to Waltham, MA. Additional Qualifications:Able to physically lift up to 75 pounds. Comfortable traveling on small aircraft. This position requires travel to the Waltham headquarters and various hospitals throughout New England.
About the role
As an Organ Surgical Recovery Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the operating room, assisting surgeons in the recovery of organs. Your responsibilities will include facilitating organ preservation using state-of-the-art mechanical perfusion devices. You will also have the autonomy to recover corneas and heart valves from deceased donors for transplantation. Furthermore, you will manage the logistics for organ recoveries, coordinating team transportation and liaising with NEDS and hospital personnel. Each day, you will take pride in contributing to life-saving and life-enhancing initiatives.
Schedule:
This is a full-time position with 24-hour on-call shifts. Shifts begin at 8:00 AM and end at 8:00 AM. Within a 6-week (42-day) period, you will be on-call for 28 days, including 8 weekends and 20 weekdays. Expect to work overnight shifts, holidays, and weekends.
