Join our dynamic team at SPGS International School Chengdu as a Part-time Chinese Co-Teacher! This role will span from May 6, 2026, to June 27, 2026, and involves the following responsibilities:
- Teach English, Mathematics, Arts, History, and Geography to children aged 7-11, collaborating with foreign teachers to design, implement, and refine educational plans and assessments.
- Lead Chinese language classes, fostering a nurturing learning environment with established standards of classroom behavior.
- Observe and document student progress in alignment with the school curriculum, maintaining open communication with subject teachers.
- Assist in the efficient scheduling of teaching assistants alongside foreign staff to enhance educational productivity.
- Design and maintain classroom and display areas, ensuring they are engaging and regularly updated.
- Manage and maintain teaching materials and resources effectively.
- Prepare for and participate in school assemblies, collaborating with foreign teachers to organize performances at least once each semester.
- Lead students on external visits and activities, ensuring safety and discipline while executing educational tasks.
- Organize extracurricular activities and celebrations for students.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and recruitment events.
- Stay updated on educational methods and adapt teaching plans according to the latest research.
- Communicate professionally with parents in accordance with school policies.
- Share insights on early childhood education with parents through articles posted on school social media.
- Engage in teaching research and participate in faculty training sessions and weekly meetings.
- Support the evaluation and assessment of teaching staff as required by the school.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the grade leader or principal.
As a candidate, you must:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or Educational Administration.
- Possess a teaching qualification recognized in China or internationally, preferably for elementary or kindergarten education.
- Have prior experience in international or bilingual elementary settings.
- Demonstrate compliance with the school's code of conduct and dress standards.
- Be proficient in both Chinese and English for teaching purposes.
- Exhibit passion for early childhood education with a strong sense of responsibility and dedication to holistic education.
- Understand preschool teaching theories and methods, with a desire for continual professional development.
- Work collaboratively with team members, respecting all school community members regardless of position, gender, age, or background.
- Be innovative in educational philosophy and maintain a proactive problem-solving attitude.
