This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices.A Day in the Life of a Senior Penetration Tester:Conduct penetration testing on web applications, cloud environments, and mobile applications utilizing black-box testing tools, in-depth penetration test techniques, and both DAST & SAST tools. Familiarity with black box, gray box, and white box testing methodologies, along with red teaming capabilities, is essential.Comprehend application architectural components and the overall business objectives. Assist in establishing secure coding practices by staying updated on information security trends, new penetration testing methodologies, and best practices, and share insights with the team.Utilize both manual and automated techniques for penetration testing across diverse platforms, including network equipment, servers, web applications, APIs, wireless, mobile, databases, and other information systems. Execute comprehensive vulnerability assessments targeting injection flaws, privilege escalation, fuzzing, buffer overflow vulnerabilities, and more.Demonstrate a proven history of identifying web application security vulnerabilities as defined by OWASP, such as input validation weaknesses, broken access controls, session management issues, cross-site scripting vulnerabilities, SQL injection flaws, and web server misconfigurations.Programming experience in Python, Perl, Java, and Shell Scripting is advantageous.Proficient in utilizing tools such as Proxies, Port Scanners, Vulnerability Scanners, and Exploit Frameworks (e.g., Burp, Nessus, Nmap, Metasploit).Provide feedback and guidance to development teams on best practices for addressing security vulnerabilities.
