Role Overview
Point Wild is hiring a QA Automation Engineer (Mobile/Android) to ensure the reliability of its global security products. This remote role (based in Latvia) focuses on designing and scaling automation for VPN products, such as HotspotShield and Betternet, and the flagship antivirus app, UltraAV. The team values agility and outcome-driven work, trusting engineers to develop effective solutions that support company growth.
What You Will Do
- Design and improve the Android automation framework (Espresso/Kakao-Cup) as the product suite grows.
- Develop complex testing strategies for VPN features, including network-dependent flows and scenarios with unstable or changing connections.
- Work closely with developers and QA colleagues to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues, providing thorough bug reports.
- Encourage QA best practices and contribute to the overall QA strategy.
- Research and evaluate new testing tools and methods to enhance QA processes.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience automating UI tests for Android apps built in Kotlin.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Espresso and Kakao-Cup, with the ability to test both Jetpack Compose and XML-based interfaces.
- Familiarity with Robolectric and Mockito for test infrastructure and mocking dependencies.
- Comfortable setting up and managing pipelines in CircleCI, and using Bash/sh scripting for automation and processing results.
- Experience sharding and parallelizing tests with test frameworks.
